About the 2008

Sydney Roosters Cheersquad

The Sydney Roosters Cheersquad has new members for 2008 bringing with them an exciting range of skills in dance and acrobatics.

The members of the squad have many years of dance training in a number of different styles including ballet, tap, jazz, funk, hip hop and contemporary dance and recognised qualifications in acrobatics.

In addition to the many members currently studying at university, the squad consists of dance teachers, secondary education teachers, acrobatics teachers, full time performers, business women, and dance school principals.

The Sydney Roosters Cheersquad pride themselves on providing stylish, energetic routines that require a combination of stamina, flexibility, personality and precise timing. They showcase a number of different dance styles throughout the seasons as well as combining acrobatics into their routines.

As well as performing and cheering at Sydney Roosters home games, the Cheersquad enjoys meeting and talking to the Roosters fans and signing autographs for the excited children who approach them.  Being part of the Sydney Roosters community and fan base is important to the girls.  They are extremely proud to be part of the Sydney Roosters Rugby League Club and hope they can bring a little glamour and plenty of entertainment to each game.

It takes determination, dedication and a strong sense of self to become a Sydney Roosters cheerleader.  The Sydney Roosters Cheersquad is widely regarded as the Superior Cheersquad in the NRL and to maintain this reputation the squad trains weekly for a number of hours on their dance routines, sideline cheers and guard of honour. This dedication ensures every performance is polished and perfected before it hits the football field.

As well as appearing at each Roosters home games, the girls can be seen at the Sydney Roosters annual fan day, corporate launch, tri colours dinner, event openings, charity functions, trade shows and various other events throughout the year.
